  • Developed new hardscape for Alexander-Butler Rose

    Garden, donated new plantings, discontinued maintenance at the Pulaski County Courthouse and rededicated the Alexander-Butler Rose Garden

  • With the help of the Butler Center for Arkansas Studies, a video highlighting “Voices, an Anecdotal History of the Little Rock Garden Club” was premiered in April 2012

  • Hosted a community-wide fund-raising event featuring
    P. Allen Smith and Todd Longstaffe-Gowan, “The Queen’s Gardener”. Todd is a noted English historical landscape designer who recently completed the restoration of Kensington Palace gardens for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

  • Hosted the Zone IX Judges Workshop at the Capital Hotel.

  • Appointed By-Laws Committee to study and revise LRGC

  • Held a GCA Flower Show “Tapestry” at the Junior League of

    Little Rock Building

  • In 2013, the LRGC celebrated its 90th anniversary and the

    Centennial anniversary of GCA with a series of commemorative events at the local and national levels. To mark this milestone in our community, a series of gifts was made including (1) native trees at the new Little Rock Children’s Library, (2) installation of landscape and garden for a new Habitat for Humanity house, (3) building and
    grounds improvements at Hillcrest Hall, (4) new
    benches for the Terry House Garden, and (5) a flower arranging program at the Arkansas Governor’s Mansion
    open to the public.

  • For the 2014 GCA Annual Meeting in New Orleans provided a group of twelve volunteer bus pilots.

  • In 2014 held a GCA Horticulture Club Flower Show entitled “Fifty Shades of Green.”

  • In a collaborative effort with the Arkansas Art Center sponsored a program on Italian gardens presented by Princess Georgiana Corsini of Florence.

  • In 2014, LRGC Communications system was revamped.
    This included the development of the LRGC website so the majority of club information could be shared with members electronically.

  • In 2015, LRGC held a GCA Club Flower Show

         “March Gladness: A Celebration of Spring.”
  • Zone IX Meeting in Little Rock, 2016 “Migrate. Cultivate. Pollinate.”
