The Dunbar Gibbs Community Garden was established to make a difference in childrens' lives through the lessons taught in the garden. This project began with Pratt Remmel, the Little Rock School District, and Arkansas Urban Gardening Educational Resources (AUGER) working with students of Dunbar Middle School and Gibbs Elementary School. All students actively participate in planting and maintaining the two acre outdoor classroom.
The Little Rock Garden Club has given support to this project since its inception. The garden was selected as one of the three finalists for The Garden Club of America Founders Fund Award in 2004.
